    You said that you don't need special equipment, just a chop saw. Then you show cutting the 4X4s with a big table saw! Who has that!!!!

      I made my first work bench using a hand saw to make the cuts in the 4x4's and not a table saw (I didn't have one at the time). It takes a little extra time but it wasn't too bad.

    • @firewoodforlife
      @firewoodforlife 6 дней назад

      I like to lay some old scrap pieces of plywood over the top which seems to work pretty well. You don't need a cover, but it definitely helps to keep the top layer of wood dry. You could also use a tarp or something similar.

    I built a workbench very similar to that in 1982, and I still have it. The main difference is instead of lag-bolts into the legs (4x4 red wood), I used bolts and nuts so the top layer and middle layer could be removed for easy transportation if needed. I used heavy duty plywood instead of wood strips for the top and middle shelf. I later installed 4 metal drawers by cutting out space in the front facia board just below the top.

  • @nathanielpreble5108
    @nathanielpreble5108 Месяц назад

    So letme get this straight. I got to build 3 of these racks to fit a full cord, assuming they’re 16’’ lengths of fire wood. I typically burn 4 cords per heating season so that’s 12 of these racks at about an hr to build. Save yourself the trouble and just use discarded wood pallets. Many businesses have old pallets just stacked up out back they’d love to get rid of a few. Just screw to pallets together then make a corner brace like in the video. When the pallets are all rotten just place new pallets on top of the old pallets and move the support brace. Done now you have time to stack all your firewood.
